Mahoney Studio — Blue Bayou is one of those songs we both heard heard as kids but didn't rediscover until a few years ago. Originally created by Roy Orbison in 1963 and covered/rereleased by Linda Ronstadt in 1977, Ronstadt’s version, with its haunting vocals and sweet melody, is on weekly repeat in our household—so much so that it’s become familiar and beloved by our both our tween and teenage kids. Despite it's lonely lyrics, it has a hopefully message of being with family and friends again.
